Tourney Command

FAQ

Golf tournament software FAQ, answered plainly.

Straight answers about golf tournament software: cost, payouts, setup and event day. If your question isn't here, ask it and you'll get a real answer from the person who can change the software.

Pricing and fees

How much does TourneyCommand cost?

A flat $1,250 for an outdoor tournament, with registration, payments, on-course games, live scoring and the Big Board all included. Indoor events are priced separately, from $395 an event, with a lower cost per event when you run more. See pricing and indoor pricing. The pricing page has a calculator, and nothing is charged until you've seen the whole quote. To see how that compares with other ways platforms charge, read what golf tournament registration software really costs.

Do you take a percentage of what we raise?

No. There is no cut of registrations, sponsorships or donations, no per-golfer fee and no fee to unlock features. Card processing is charged by Square directly to your own account, which is true on every platform, including ours.

Is there a "tip for the platform" at checkout?

No. Some registration platforms pre-select a tip for the platform at checkout, and the money goes to the software company, not your cause. On the Zeffy checkouts and the DoJiggy demo we looked at in October 2026, the tip was pre-selected at 15% and the highest option was 20%; to pay nothing, the golfer has to choose "Other" or enter a custom amount. We never add one. Here's how registration money really flows.

Does the price change with the number of golfers?

No. A 144-golfer field costs the same as a 72-golfer field. Growing your tournament should never make it more expensive to run.

What costs extra?

Only physical items such as printed signage and prize merchandise, at cost plus a fair margin. Keeping your site online past the 30 days that are included is optional: 3 months is $150, 6 months is $250 and 12 months is $299 a year. Running it on your own domain is $300. Every option is priced before you choose it, and nothing renews unless you say so.

Payments and payouts

Do I get the money right away, or do you hold it?

Right away. That's our instant payout: from the first signup, card payments go to your own Square account and e-Transfers go to your own bank. We never hold your funds, and we don't pay out at the end the way most platforms do.

How can golfers and sponsors pay?

By card through your own Square account, or by Interac e-Transfer. Volunteers can also take card or record cash from a phone on the course. For e-Transfers, the money lands in your account and you confirm receipt with one tap, and the payer is notified automatically.

Can each player in a team pay their own share?

Yes. Split pay lets each member of a team pay their own share, and the system reminds anyone who hasn't paid so you don't have to chase them.

Does TourneyCommand issue tax receipts?

Receipting is your charity's job under the CRA's rules, and what you can receipt for a golf tournament is more limited than most committees expect. Read our guide to golf tournament tax receipts in Canada. The golfer directory exports every golfer, package and payment status for whoever signs your returns. If you're still pricing, see how to set your golf tournament entry fee first, because the receipt rules can set a minimum.

Getting started

How long does it take to set up?

Under 15 minutes if you answer all of the wizard's questions, and your event site is live the same day. The registration page is part of the site the wizard builds. Start your tournament when you're ready.

Do I need to be technical?

No. If you can log into Command Center with a username and password, you can run a full tournament.

Can you set it up for me?

Yes. If your committee would rather hand over the details than use the wizard, say so in your message and we'll arrange it. Send a message.

Can I try it before I buy?

Yes. Two complete demo tournaments are online right now, built with the same wizard your event would use. Press anything you like; nothing on them takes a payment. Try the live demo.

Can I bring last year's golfer list?

Yes. Download the template, drop in your CSV and preview every row before anything is saved. Returning teams are matched and updated instead of duplicated.

Running the event

How does check-in work?

Each golfer gets a personal QR code by email before the day. A volunteer scans it and they're in. The scanner is PIN-protected, and there's a thirty-second undo for the inevitable wrong tap.

What is the Big Board?

It's the screen in your clubhouse. Golfers arrive on it with their photo, a burst of confetti and a voice call-out, and through the afternoon it becomes a live leaderboard, a sponsor wall and the stage for your draw.

How does live scoring work?

Every team scores from its own phone using a private link, so there are no paper cards to chase. It handles scramble and best ball, and the leaderboard updates as teams post. For the rules and handicap allowances, see how to run a best ball golf tournament.

Can we run a raffle or 50/50, and do we need a licence?

Yes to running one, and the licence is yours to get. Raffles and 50/50 draws are regulated, and in Ontario that usually means a licence from the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario or your municipality. TourneyCommand is the technology, not the licensee. The software gives you numbered tickets, a draw on the Big Board and an exportable log of every allocation, draw and claim. See section 4 of the terms.

Do I still need volunteers?

Yes. Software still needs people. You'll want someone scanning check-in codes and others selling raffle and 50/50 tickets and mingling. The platform removes the admin so your volunteers can spend the day with people. For roles and a timeline, see how to run a charity golf scramble.

Can sponsors sign up and pay on the same site?

Yes. Sponsors pick a tier, pay and upload their logo on your event site. Tiers have real inventory, so a sold-out tier closes itself, and sponsors are reminded automatically if their materials are missing before your print deadline. For tiers, prices and a pitch email, see how to get sponsors for a charity golf tournament.

After the event and your data

What happens to my site after the event?

Registration, sponsorship and volunteer sign-up switch off by themselves the day after you play. Donations stay open. Thirty days of hosting is included, and you can keep the site online as a thank-you page and photo gallery for longer. We never hard-delete a charity's records. See pricing for the options.

Where is my data stored?

On our own servers in Milton, Ontario, under Canadian law, not on a US platform's servers. Read the privacy policy for the detail.

Indoor and long-drive events

Do you support indoor leagues and long-drive events?

Yes, and we treat them as different from outdoor events, because they are. Check-in, qualifying and cuts, brackets, a live leaderboard, season standings and direct payments are all included. See indoor and long-drive events.

About us and support

Who answers if I have a question?

One inbox, answered by the person who can actually change the software, usually within one business day. If your event is inside three weeks, say so and it jumps the queue. There's no sales sequence: one reply to your question, and no chasing or phone calls. Contact us.

Why choose TourneyCommand over a platform that's been around for 15 years?

Because it's a true end-to-end system with no hidden fees, no paywalls and no surprises, and your money is yours from day one. I owned an indoor golf facility and I play the game, so I've been the organizer with the spreadsheet and the golfer at registration wondering whether anyone knows they paid. See how TourneyCommand works and the features.

STILL HAVE A QUESTION?

Ask it, or see it live

Send a message and you’ll get one real reply, usually within one business day. No sales sequence. Or build your event site in about fifteen minutes.
